MINUTES: Distributed prior to meeting. Woodard motioned to accept , Ruggles

second. Motion carried.

TREASURERS REPORT: Diedrich distributed monthly report.

Campbell motioned to accept, Woodard seconded. Motion carried.

Building & Grounds:

Beef and swine posts are rotted and floating. Will be looked at and brought back to thenext meeting.

Horse barns have roofs that are rusting and need attention. Will explained that following fair, building repair assessment will be made based on profit/loss.

Fairground usage: May 19 small livestock will be using the grounds and restrooms.

Restrooms need to be de-winterized prior to April 27th.

Patty volunteered to oversee the grounds calendar.

Fairbook changes:

Photography department proposes to add 10 classes

Small livestock superintendent would like to combine shows (goat Monday at 11),

reducing a judge.

Large livestock: Hogs allowed to leave at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Limit to 5 market species exhibited. Participants at MLE will be granted late arrival within 5 hours.

Natural Resource Dept.: Overhaul of department

Council: eliminate Youth Ambassador Contest

Poetry: eggs limited to 1 dozen with educational component. Reducing numbers of top awards. Market record book requirement.

Horticultural: Overhaul of department, making it more understandable.

Crafts will be brought in on Saturday along with floriculture and Horticultural exhibits.

Ruggles motioned to accept all changes, Gettel seconded. Motion carried.

Dog show will take place in front of the grandstand on Sunday morning.

New Business:

Heather is typically in the office from 8-4, Tuesdays & Wednesdays and Thursday, 8-12.

Thursday grandstand: Dick is working with agent from Nashville. Behm motioned to dedicate $1500 towards a Christian Rock group, Campbell seconded, motion carried.

Jackie will contact Sarah Overdier for opening act. Event will begin at 7:30.

September 29, Tail-waggers request usage of Merchants building, restrooms, and grounds from 9-4, arriving on the 28th for clean-up.

Behm motioned to designated $300 towards frog jumping contest, taking place Friday afternoon. Seconded by Woodard, motion carried. Gettel opposed.

State of Michigan fairground property has been transferred and all gates, pens, etc. are being distributed to interested county fairs. Middleton will follow up.

Diedrich reviewed lifetime member list. Removed Deceased before mailing postcards.

Horse Races will take place August 9th. 2pm Post time.

Gettel motioned to adjourn at 8:45, Woodard seconded. Motion carried.
